C15 tower


Eglwys Defynnog


Sandstone pillar inscribed in Latin and possibly Ogham and dating to the 5th-6th Century AD. The Latin text reads as "RVGMIATIO/FI0LI VENDONI" - translated to "The stone of Rugniato, son of Vendonus"
The stone was later reused when a cross was inscribed into it in the 7th - 9th Century.
In the fourteenth Century the stone was used in the wall of the church tower
